Dr. Olayode Adesola OLASUPO is Deputy Director (Advanced Materials) with National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Abuja, Nigeria. He bagged a B.Eng. and an M.Eng. degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from The Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria and later a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Metallurgical and Materials) from Federal University of Technology, Minna Nigeria. His professional
career which spans over two decades began in 1998 at Engineering Materials Development Institute (EMDI), Akure, Nigeria where he rose to become a Principal Research and Development Officer. While at EMDI, his research areas were in Furnace and Kiln Design, Foundry Technology and Materials Design and Selection. In 2008, he got redeployed to the Headquarters of NASENI in Abuja where he has since moved into the field of Nanotechnology. His main research focus in the last five years has being in the area of green synthesis of nanoparticles and nanocomposites for the treatment of industrial wastewater.
His present work is in the production of nanoparticles for use as binders and detoxifiers in food and feed; and the production of portable sensors for detection of mycotoxins. He is a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN); a Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers and a Professional Member of Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria.
