Dr. Daniel Oduro-Mensah


Daniel is a Ghanaian biochemist and academic. He teaches Biochemistry at the University for Development Studies in Ghana. His research interests are mainly in the areas of microbial biotechnology, natural products biochemistry and antimicrobial resistance. Some of his current research efforts are aimed at bioremediation/bioconversion of biomass, tackling food security issues in the face of climate change, modification of bioactivity profiles of plant extracts and tracking carriage of ESBL-harbouring bacteria in the community.

Dr. Daniel Oduro-Mensah is a collaborating scientist with the Marian Ewurama Addy Medicinal Plants and Natural Products Research Laboratory and Laboratory for Chemical Systems Biology of Infectious Pathogens, both of University of Ghana. Outside the laboratory, Daniel is engaged in advocacy for private businesses and contributes to Wiki content as a member of the Wikimedia Foundation. Daniel is an academic partner of the Africa Centre of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety.
